How do I manually update the firmware on my NETGEAR WiFi Extender?

By following these simple steps you can update update the firmware on your netgear Wi-Fi extender.

  • First of all, connect your extender to your router Connect to your extender's Wi-Fi network.
  • Visit at NETGEAR Support website
  • Enter your extender's Model Number or Product Name.
  • Click Downloads.
  • Select a firmware version and click Download.
  • Unzip the file if needed.
  • Enter mywifiext.net. in your web browse.
  • Enter the extender admin user name and password.
  • Click Firmware Update.
  • Click the Browse button, then locate and select the firmware file that ends in .img or .chk.
  • Click the Upload button. The firmware update starts and the extender restarts. The firmware update process takes about two minutes.
