COVID has disrupted the lifeline of our country i.e. Education System. The schools and colleges are shut and in the now new normal teaching is happening over the various team collaboration applications.

Our ways and means to impart education were still old-school and teaching was an occupation where you didn't really have to be a technology-savvy person. You just had to have your knowledge and good teaching and communication skills. But this was an old story because the teachers today have way too much technology on their plate.

The shift in the Eduction System-

We have seen a lateral shift in the Education system, from blackboard teaching to video conference teaching we have come way too far. So, those teachers who were not even used to sending out mails have to co-ordinate with students and their parents on every possible medium of communication. Teachers today have to-

  1. Schedule online classes
  2. Mark attendance online
  3. Parent-teacher meetups online
  4. Progress report preparation
  5. Grading System
  6. Do live classes that the parents might as well watch, making it much more difficult.

And these are just a handful of them. I was undergoing training related to #RPA and realized that all these mundane tasks could be automated. Teachers could use Robotic Process Automation to do all these cumbersome tasks like scheduling, attendance management, and grading. With the automation of routine tasks, they will focus more on their core role responsibilities, which are enhancing their student's performance and skills.

But the question that arises is that What is RPA?

Hundreds of millions of knowledge workers are employed across the world and in every industry. RPA enables us to remove routine, mundane, and repetitive tasks via software robots. Through RPA, we are freed from the work that adds little value, joy, and satisfaction. It allows users to configure a software robot to emulate human interaction with digital systems to execute a business process. RPA robots utilize the user interface and/or APIs to capture data and interact with applications just as humans do, but faster and with fewer errors. The robots interpret data, trigger responses, and communicate with other systems to perform a wide variety of repetitive tasks

RPA can indeed make the teacher's lives simpler. And education a bit more fun!
