Homeopathy is a branch in medical science based on the belief that the body is capable of curing itself. It was developed in Germany in 1700s. Homeopathy medicines use some amounts of natural substances, like plants and minerals. They believe that these substances stimulate the healing process in human body.
Homeopathy is based on two unconventional theories:
• A theory that says “Like cures like”—the notion that a disease is capable of being cured by a substance that produces similar symptoms in a healthy body.
• “Law of minimum dose”—the notion that less the dose of the medication, more is its effectiveness. Some homeopathic products are so diluted that hardly any molecules of the original substance remain.
Health issues that homeopathy can cure:
Homeopathy is capable of curing almost every kind of disease from minor to chronic ones. Minor illness like bruises, scrapes, fever, toothaches, headaches, nausea, blood pressure, coughs, and colds are easily treated with homeopathy. Health issues like Allergies, Migraines, Depression, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, Irritable bowel syndrome, Premenstrual syndrome etc. also have a treatment in homeopathy.
It is always advised you, not to take homeopathy medicines in case of life threating diseases like cancer, asthma, tumor etc.
Risks and side effects of homeopathy
Homeopathic medicines and treatments are generally safe, and the risk of any kind of serious adverse side effect arising from it is very low. This is because the substances in homeopathy medicines are so diluted that it won’t affect the human body.
But some of the homeopathic remedies may contain substances that are not safe. They may contain large amount of an active ingredient, like a heavy metal, that can be dangerous to your health.
You should always talk to your doctor before stopping any of your homeopathic treatment.
